Figure / portrait painting - open studio sessions, first two weeks

This year's open sessions for figurative and portrait painting and sketching are going full tilt now. Today was our second week. The top image is our life model Mark, it is a 16 x 20-inch oil on canvas from a 2-hour pose. The painting below it is Lydia, that is a 5 x 7-inch oil on board painting from a 3-hour pose. Our models are wonderful, am totally enjoying these Sunday afternoon sessions. For some reason, burgundy seems to be a popular colour so far this year. Wonder what colours might show up next week? If you would like to find out, there is still a spot or two left. See the registration details here if you would like to join us this Sunday.
