Portrait Painting workshop with Mary Ann Archibald

November 15 and 16 (Thursday and Friday), 10:00 to 4:30 with a lunch break at the MARC in Dayspring

This course is designed to provide insight into creating a good likeness in a painted portrait.

We will cover key ways to create a likeness in your work. Lighting methods to create the mood you want to portray in the portrait. Colour mixing methods to create life-like skin tones.

All media welcome but especially suitable for oil painters. This course is useful for anyone with a genuine interest and desire to create a lifelike painted portrait.

Materials list available after registering. Please advise your medium of choice.

The fee for this intensive two day workshop is $175.
To register please make out a non-refundable check in the amount of $50 to the Lunenburg Art Gallery and mail to:

The remainder of your tuition($125) will be due on Nov 15th.

In the event that the workshop is not held, your check will be returned.


All LAG workshops will ask for a non-refundable deposit and a final payment by specified dates. LAG is a non profit organization which sets up workshops at the lowest possible cost to participants. Unfortunately, we must be strict regarding refunds because we need a certain number of participants in order to afford the workshop. By the time the final payment is due, the plans are set for the visiting artist and the monies committed.
