Snow is still on the ground

Donated to a local animal welfare group as a fundraiser.


This is an earlier and smaller oil sketch for a winter landscape sketch near Wolfville, Nova Scotia. I'm trying to determine how much of the red soil should poke through the snow in this painting (not very much). I intend to work up a much larger studio painting from these two sketches this spring depicting this approximate area (Blomidon in the background).
